Agreement to Terms

By installing and using GeoFilterX, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please do not use the extension.

Description of Service

GeoFilterX is a browser extension that:

• Displays country flags next to Twitter/X usernames based on publicly available location data
• Allows you to filter your timeline by geographic location
• Operates entirely on your local device without collecting or transmitting your data

Acceptable Use

You agree to use GeoFilterX only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the extension
• Use the extension to harass, discriminate against, or harm others based on their location
• Circumvent any technical limitations or security features
• Use the extension in violation of Twitter/X's Terms of Service

Data Accuracy

GeoFilterX displays location information based on data users have voluntarily provided in their Twitter/X profiles. We make no guarantees about:

• The accuracy of location data (users can set false locations)
• The completeness of coverage (not all accounts have location data)
• The real-time nature of the data (cached for up to 30 days)

Location flags should be considered as supplementary context, not definitive proof of an account's actual location.

Disclaimer of Warranties

GeoFilterX is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The extension will be error-free or uninterrupted
• Defects will be corrected
• The extension is free from viruses or harmful components
• The results obtained from using the extension will be accurate or reliable

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the creators of GeoFilterX shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, data, or use
• Decisions made based on information provided by the extension
• Any issues arising from Twitter/X's platform changes or policies

Respect for Geographic Diversity

GeoFilterX is designed to provide transparency about information sources, not to promote discrimination or xenophobia. Users are expected to:

• Use geographic filtering responsibly
• Understand that location does not determine credibility or intent
• Respect people from all geographic locations

Third-Party Platforms

GeoFilterX operates on Twitter/X, a third-party platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Twitter/X. Changes to Twitter/X's platform may affect the extension's functionality.

Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue the extension at any time
• Update these terms with notice through the Chrome Web Store
• Change features or functionality as needed

Termination

You may stop using GeoFilterX at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may terminate or suspend access to the extension without notice if we believe you have violated these terms.

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
