GeoFilterX is built with privacy as a core principle. Unlike most browser extensions and web services, we don't collect, store, or transmit your personal data. Period.

What Data We Don't Collect

GeoFilterX does NOT collect:

• Your Twitter/X timeline or tweet content
• Your browsing history
• Your personal information or account details
• Analytics or usage statistics
• IP addresses or location data
• Any personally identifiable information (PII)

How GeoFilterX Works

GeoFilterX operates entirely on your local device. When you browse Twitter/X:

• The extension reads publicly available location data from user profiles directly from Twitter/X's website
• This data is cached locally on your device for 30 days to improve performance
• All data processing happens on your computer - nothing is sent to external servers
• Your filter preferences are stored locally in your browser

Data Storage

All data is stored locally using Chrome's built-in storage API. This includes:

• Cached location data for Twitter/X accounts you've viewed
• Your personal filter preferences (which countries/regions you've chosen to hide)

This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser data.

Third-Party Services

GeoFilterX does not use any third-party analytics services, tracking pixels, or external APIs. The only external connection is to Twitter/X itself, which is required for the extension to function on that platform.

Data Security

Since we don't collect or transmit your data, there is no risk of data breaches from our servers. Your data remains on your device, protected by your browser's security features.

Your Rights

Because we don't collect your data, there's no data to request, modify, or delete from our end. You have complete control over the extension and can:

• View all stored data through Chrome's developer tools
• Clear all extension data by removing the extension
• Modify or delete filter preferences at any time

Children's Privacy

GeoFilterX does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. Since we don't collect any data at all, there are no special considerations for children's privacy.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change how GeoFilterX handles data (which would contradict our core privacy principle), we will update this policy and notify users through the Chrome Web Store update notes.
